These rich but delicate maple pecan tassies are a delicious addition to your Christmas cookie roster this year! They look like tiny tarts, and taste like a cross between a shortbread cookie and a slice of pecan pie. The addition of maple syrup is the perfect compliment to the pecans!

This blog post is part of a Christmas cookie blog hop I’m joining today. Make sure to visit all of the links at the bottom of this post for more yummy Christmas cookies you can make this season!

I found a delicious pecan tassies recipe in an old Christmas Cookies magazine from 2008, and it’s become one of my absolute favourite Christmas treats!

These look and taste a lot like pecan tarts, but they’re SO much easier to make. I also altered the recipe to add some maple syrup. Pecan and maple taste so good together!

To make these, you first mix some butter, cream cheese, and flour together to create a flaky pastry. Then, you squish some in the bottom and sides of a mini cupcake pan.

Next, you create a filling with egg, brown sugar, maple syrup, butter, and pecans. Spoon it into the pastry, and then bake everything together!

The result is a decant tasting treat that looks adorable too!

Please note that in order to be considered as a week’s feature you need to follow the instructions of Fiesta Friday. Please note that you are taking the recipe to Fiesta Friday with a link, also mentioning any co-hosts. I unfortunately can’t vote for you unless those rules are followed, I would love to feature you.

  2. These look so pretty and I bet they taste amazing! I love any desserts that are mini; although I usually end up eating large amounts of anything “mini”, haha!
