It’s reveal day for the 2019 Spring One Room Challenge! I’m so excited to share my parents’ finished lake house master bathroom with you today. It’s chock full of gorgeous DIYs and cottage style bathroom design inspiration.

It’s One Room Challenge time again! This time, my parents have completed their beautiful lake house master bathroom over the last six weeks! Have you seen my parents’ beautiful lake house? You can read all about it right here.

On week one, I introduced the space to you and shared the Classic Cottage Master Bathroom design plans and mood board.

For week two, I shared an update on how the bathroom is looking so far and how my parents are creating a vanity from Ikea kitchen cabinets.

On week three, I shared how my parents have made some DIY board and batten and custom shelving for their space.

For week four, I gave you a sneak peek of the gorgeous custom shower that my mom & dad are creating.

Last week, I showed you how close my parents were to finishing up the room!

And this week? It’s FINAL REVEAL time!!

Behold my mom and dad’s newly finished cottage style master bathroom:

I just adore it so much! It’s fresh, it’s bright, and it makes me feel like I’ve escaped to an expensive spa retreat.

Let’s talk about the details of this space.

Even though I think this bathroom looks very high-end, my budget-conscious parents did a lot of DIY and careful product sourcing to make sure this room didn’t break the bank.

The simple yet elegant free-standing tub is by Maax and probably my favourite piece in the room. It has such a beautiful shape, and it truly makes this room feel special.

An old piece of wood acts as a beautiful, vintage looking tub tray.

My mom refinished an antique side table by stripping and whitewashing it to create the perfect tub-side table.

A soft capiz shell light fixture over the tub adds subtle elegance. We found it at the local Habitat for Humanity Restore!

Even though this bathroom vanity looks completely custom made and expensive, it’s an Ikea kitchen cabinet hack! My talented parents used some Ikea kitchen cabinets as a base, customized them, painted some doors, and added some trim to created this built-in look.

The countertop is a laminate that looks like marble, and inexpensive sinks are stepped up with gorgeous chrome faucets.

Beautiful chrome light fixtures over simple oval mirrors add to the classic cottage look of this space.

Another lovely feature of this vanity is the custom tower with drawers and drawers that my parents made from MDF and finished with paint and trim.

Around the corner are the doors to the toilet room and closet, and I love these traditional looking doors and trim!

The little slice of faux marble tile in the shower against all the DIY board and batten looks so pretty, too.

My parents did such a fabulous job with the shower. They waterproofed, tiled and finished the whole things, and this mix of real and faux marble tile is stunning. I love the custom nook they created with reclaimed marble tiles.

So, what do you think?! Could you relax here? I know I could. I’m so proud of all of the work my parents put into this space over the course of the last 6 weeks. Their bathroom is absolutely stunning and I hope they’ll enjoy it for years to come!

  2. I love the clean crisp look of your bathroom. Am looking for a laminate countertop that goes with Stataurio C-Stone floor tile similar to your bathroom. What make and pattern is your countertop?

  3. That bathroom is gorgeous! I can’t believe all the DIY that looks so professional. We just chose a contractor and picked out our finishes for our master bath remodel today and there are several similarities to your parent’s bathroom. Job Very Well Done!!

  4. I love this bathroom and would like to do something similar in my bathroom. Can you tell me what the dimensions of the room are?

  5. Wow! Nicely done. Can you share more about which door and drawer fronts from ikea they bought? And the process for painting? I actually bought ikea bases, drawers and doors and now post return period realize I made some bad decisions. Being able to buy some fronts/drawers and customizing and painting might solve my issues
