Have you ever tried crafting with polymer clay? It’s such a fun medium! Today, let’s make some simple marbled heart ornaments from polymer clay. These are perfect for Valentine’s Day decor, to use as gift tags, or for place settings.

Today’s blog post is in collaboration with some of my favourite blogging friends. After you check out my project, make sure to visit their DIY Valentine’s Day ideas linked at the bottom of this post!

These cute little heart ornaments would be a fun craft to make with kids, or the perfect project if you’re a beginner using polymer clay.

I hung these up on some faux birch trees at my front door to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and I’m also using them for a cute little V-Day table setup that I’m working on for my daughters. They’d also be cute to use as wine glass charms or gift tags!

Here’s how to make these easy DIY polymer clay marbled heart ornaments:

First, roll a block of white polymer clay and a block of pink polymer clay into long cylinder shapes. Twist the strands together, fold, and twist again. Repeat this process until you get the marbled look that you desire.

Roll the clay into a ball and roll it with a rolling pin until it’s about 1/4″ thick.

Place a piece of plastic wrap over the clay, and then use a small heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut hearts from the clay. The plastic wrap will give your hearts a rounded edge.

Remove the heart shapes from the excess clay and place them on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Punch a hole in the top of each heart with a small, round cutter. If desired, you can also use letter stamps to stamp initials or names in each heart ornament.

Finally, bake the ornaments at 265 F for about 30 minutes. Once they’re cool, tie a string through the hole at the top of each heart.

You can tie the ends of the string together to create a hanging ornament, or leave the ends of the string loose to tie these around napkins, wine glass stems, or gifts.
