So, get your best dad jokes ready and continue reading below for Father’s Day party inspiration and my hand-picked DIY gift guide!

Getting the Patio Ready

Let’s start by making your patio or deck an inviting and comfortable outdoor space! In this post, I’m sharing some easy, colorful patio decorating ideas along with mosquito repellent tips. Here’s how to get your patio ready and inviting for your Father’s Day celebration.

An Easy Barbecue Recipe

Whether you’re planning to serve a large group at your Father’s Day party or just host a small and intimate family gathering, you are going to need an easy and delicious main course menu idea! Here’s one of our current favourite barbecued meals: Easy Prep BBQ Chicken and Veggie Packets. These are so easy to prepare! You can cook them on a propane barbecue, over charcoal or even in a a fire pit!

A Father’s Day Drink Idea

This next idea makes either a great individual dad gift, or a great addition to a Father’s Day party buffet table! My hubby loves relaxing in his man cave and cracking open a pop. (Or a soda, for my American friends.) He says and I quote: “Pop tastes so much better in a glass bottle.” So for a simple Father’s Day gift, my daughters and I came up with a case of pop in glass bottles with some fun printable labels. I designed one label to wrap around a small case of Coca-Cola in glass bottles. The other one is a card that can be tied to one of the bottles. The main wrapper says, “You’re the best Pop” and the label says “We love you, Dad“. I kept the design simple with black ink on a faux burlap background and I love how it turned out.

Perfect Backyard Barbecue Desserts

S’mores are the perfect dessert idea for a backyard Father’s Day barbecue! This S’mores Bar idea makes serving a large group of people this classic campfire food easy and fun. Come see how I set up this fun DIY dessert bar, and get some ideas for how you can create your own!

For another dessert option, consider this. What do people obsessed with baking make when it’s too hot outside to turn on the oven? They make no-bake cookies, of course! I know that chocolate oatmeal no bake cookies aren’t anything new, but I wanted to share with you my personal recipe in our family’s cookbook that I’ve used for years and love. This would be the perfect easy dessert served at your Father’s Day backyard barbecue or garden party!

Now that you have the party prep ideas sorted, it’s time to think about the best Father’s Days gifts! I’ve got lots of different ideas ranging from photo books to simple DIYs and gift baskets. Read on to find the perfect gift for the dad you have in mind.

A Gift for the New Dad

Father’s Day is almost here, and I’ve got some great ideas for easy photo related gifts for that special man in your family. With the help of an online digital photo gifts service, my daughters and I created an adorable photo book with custom pages I made for my kids to fill out, and a sweet photo mug filled with Dad’s favourite treats to go with it. This would be a great gift idea for a new dad or a dad with small children. Come see how easy it was to create these photo gifts, and I’ll also share with you some free files I created that you can add to your own Father’s Day book!

For the “Sweet” Dad

You can’t go wrong with a personalized gift basket for any occasion, including Father’s Day! How about an ice cream sundae kit for the dad who loves sweets? You can find most of these items at the dollar store or on Amazon, which makes this basket budget-friendly. You can include ice cream essentials like:

  • waffle bowls,
  • an ice cream scoop,
  • sundae syrup,
  • cherries,
  • sprinkles and candy.

Place all of the items inside a basket and add a label too so the Dad in your life knows all they need to add for their ice cream sundae night…is ice cream! Visit the full post for free printable tags and other gift basket ideas that can be tweaked for Father’s Day

A Unique Father’s Day Gift Idea

Is the dad in your life notoriously difficult to buy gifts for? This five senses gift idea made with the help of my Cricut Joy is a fun way to create a special gift box A five senses gift is a collection of gifts that include items from each of the five senses. There will be an item to smell, one to taste (maybe a pint glass or fancy beer?), one to touch (a shirt?), one to see and one to hear (hello tech gadgets and devices!). If you’re stuck for ideas on one of the senses, consider a fun gift box subscription to fill in the gap! I love this basket because it’s really easy to include a variety of different items that are personal to your recipient and stay on theme.
