This free printable Christmas coupon book is a wonderful gift for your kids this year! It’s the perfect stocking stuffer or last minute idea (let’s be honest, sometimes we need those), and a great way to encourage spending quality time together as a family.

Our kids definitely have enough toys, so this year we are keeping the toy count low for Christmas presents and focusing more on gifts of thoughtfulness and “experience”. We aren’t planning to travel very far over the holidays or in January, but there are still so many other ways to make it a very merry Christmas! We have so many activities and experiences planned that we think are great gift ideas and that we know they will love.

This free printable coupon book is full of simple, inexpensive activity ideas that your child can redeem over the year. I got this idea from my friend Sarah who assists me with my blog and social channels – she’s such a gift herself! She’s been giving her kids a handmade coupon book as a Christmas gift for a while now, and she inspired me to create something similar to share with you. I don’t know why but kids just love coupons.  It seems almost universal! Maybe it’s the many-gifts-in-one appeal, or having a high card to play when they really want to choose supper or get out of a chore. Whatever it is, coupons are always a hit.

In this coupon book, you’ll find coupons that say things like: “This coupon is good for pizza for supper!” And: “This coupon is good for no chores for one full day!” I tried to think of things my girls would really value and be excited about cashing in, that I think most other kids would want to receive from their mom or dad too. You can also customize this coupon book template with the blank coupons I have included! Whether it is a trip to their favorite restaurant, a yummy dessert, a movie night, or fun outings – this gift has you covered!

To download, print, and create your own free Christmas coupon book for your children, simply click right here or on the image below to access the PDF version of the booklet. Then, cut all of the coupons out, staple them together, and either cover the stapled edge with some washi tape or other decorative tape or use a hole punch and thread cute ribbon through for a sweet homemade gift look. Pop the booklet in your child’s stocking or under the tree, and enjoy their reaction when they see it on Christmas Day!

You can also use this DIY coupon book idea for any other happy holidays! Create different versions for Valentine’s Day, birthdays, and more to give the gift of quality time – even on a tight budget!

If you want more ideas for giving the gift of time with your family, I’ve got a couple other posts up my sleeve!

Make a Personalized Christmas Eve Box

What is a Christmas Eve Box, you ask? It’s a small box of gifts you give to your loved ones – typically your children – on Christmas Eve. Giving a personalized box of simple gifts is a wonderful way to extend the magic of Christmas Day and create an exciting tradition for your family. Many families give their children pajamas and treats on Christmas Eve, so packaging these things up in a cute gift box makes them seem extra special. And this little couple book would make a perfect addition!

A Gift In A Tin: Family Game Night In A Tin

Another fun experience gift for the whole family is this Family Game Night in a Tin! Include everything you would need for a fun night in front of the TV as a family:

And this gift pairs perfectly with my coupon book! Let your kids cash in their favourite movie choice coupon on the night you use the tin and it’s like two gifts in one!

I hope you enjoy this little free printable Christmas coupon book! If you end up using it, please share it on social media and tag me @thediymommy. I’d love to see it in action this season!
